My Approach: Therapy for Men in Kent & Online

A Straightforward, Personal Approach to Therapy

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if it is your first time. My approach is simple, human, and focused on you. Whether you are dealing with stress, burnout, relationship strain or just a general sense of feeling stuck, I offer a calm, honest space where you can work things through.

As an integrative counsellor, I use a flexible blend of counselling methods tailored to your needs. You will not get textbook phrases or scripted techniques. You will get real conversation and a supportive, down-to-earth approach that meets you where you are.

What You Can Expect

  • A real human connection: No awkward silences. No judgement. Just honest, supportive conversation built on trust.

  • No psychobabble: We talk in a way that makes sense to you. If theory helps, great. If not, we keep it clear and grounded.

  • Challenge with compassion: I will always listen, but I will also help you notice unhelpful patterns and gently challenge them when it helps you move forward.

  • Pace and consistency: You do not have to have it all figured out. Just showing up is enough. We take it one step at a time.

Therapy That Works With You

This is not about being told what to do or forced to speak before you are ready. I will never ask you to share anything you are not comfortable with. But when the time feels right, I will support you in exploring the emotions, patterns and past experiences that might be holding you back.

Unpacking the Shed

A useful way to think about therapy is like “unpacking your shed.” Over time, we all store away things we do not want to look at. Old feelings, habits that no longer serve us, painful memories, self-criticism or stress. Our sessions give you a chance to open the door, look at what is there and begin to let go of what you no longer need to carry.

You will not have to go through it all at once. This is your pace, your space, and your process.

My Therapy Process

The first few sessions are about building trust and getting a better understanding of what is going on in your life. We look at what brought you here, how your past may be affecting your present, and what kind of support you need.

As we work together, we will begin to make connections, explore healthier coping tools, and move towards clarity, strength and change.

There are no quick fixes, but there is the opportunity for real growth and relief when you are ready to start.

Issues I Work With

Getting Started is Simple

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if it’s your first time. I aim to make it as straightforward and stress-free as possible. Here’s how we begin:

1

2

Choose a time and format

If we agree to work together, we will arrange a regular session time either online or in person in Tunbridge Wells. I will send over a client agreement so you know what to expect.

3

Begin your therapy

We will work together in a way that feels right for you. Whether you want short-term support or are ready for deeper, longer-term work, I will walk alongside you.

Let's start with a conversation

If you’re thinking about therapy and want to see if I’m the right fit, you can book a free 15-minute video consultation. It’s informal, confidential, and there is no pressure to continue.

This could be the first step toward feeling more like yourself again.
